Worried about the inoculation? Find our syringe help sheet here….
The chestnut mushroom isn’t new, but it’s a staple that’s cultivation begun with the Greeks and the Romans! They’re widely foraged for and cultivated around the world.
With their chestnut brown caps, rusty gills and firm texture, and health benefits these adorable little mushrooms make great additions to any recipe! They’re best harvested young for a fuller flavor profile. They have an earthy, nutty flavor that takes well to sauteing, soups, grilling, roasting and much more!
They’re not used solely for their great taste, but for their purported medicinal benefits. Chestnut Mushrooms are a highly concentrated source of vitamins and minerals, and they possess anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, and anti-fungal properties. Along with vitamins B3 and B5, they contain more vitamin B2 than most garden vegetables!
Recent studies have also indicated that Chestnut Mushrooms may help in slowing the progression of osteoporosis! Is there anything they can’t do?
They naturally grow on beech trees, so they would do well in hardwood logs, hardwood bags, sawdust, the all in one inject and forget bags or the dutch kit.

The Syringe Itself/ What you will receive
All our spore syringes are carefully packed in the UK. To avoid premature injection during transit, the included needle is kept safely in the plastic packet and the syringe is secured with a syringe end cap. We do not include an alcohol swab as we do not want our customers to wipe the already sterile needle.
Please note all syringe needles come fully sterilized/gamma irradiated and any attempt to sterilize them further will most likely contaminate them.
